We're launching our new boat Fontana, a Jewell design from Francois Vivier. Fontana was built by O'Connor Wooden Boats www.oconnorwoodenboats.com who also supply cnc kits for Jewell and all other Francois Vivier designs. We are joined by friends from www.gaffrigsailinginwa.org The launch went well and everyone was very impressed with how well the boat sailed.

New cnc cutting 15mm sheet for naval cadet boat.
This is the first sail on Fontana, a Jewell design from Francois Vivier. We were pleasantly surprised just how fast she was even before we had fully tuned the sails. The wind was very gusty so we were cautious and used the first reef.
A short video of us doing a capsize test with our Caledonia Yawl, the boat lay over quite high because of her reserve buoyancy which was good and righted very easily. The delay was to allow the crew time to swim around to the other side to see how to right the boat.
Below is my cnc machine cutting scarfs for a Goat Island Skiff, the cnc files are supplied by Clint Chase, Clint's nc scarfs are 3 dimensional as opposed to the Francois Vivier scarfs shown being assembled in the following video.
A short video showing how I fit the cnc plank scarf. The pointy bits get a light sanding and then the hook part has to be fitted. i use a dremmel , for these 6mm scarfs it only takes a few seconds to fit.
